Warkworth Birthing Centre opened in February 2000. It is situated in quiet surroundings on a hill above the town and has a quiet, homely atmosphere. Full birthing facilities are available for normal births and a pool is available for labour and birth. Your midwife provides your labour and birth care with your second midwife coming in to assist at the birth. After the birth of your baby and until you go home there are midwives, registered nurses and maternity assistants to provide care for you and your baby. Your midwife will visit or call you daily and continue to provide your post-natal care at home after discharge from the birthing centre.
Current visiting guidelines during Alert Level 1 Partners can stay the entire time with you if you wish Women can nominate another 4 visitors - 5 in total including partner. These are the only people who can visit. Siblings are welcome to visit their new brother or sister Visiting times are strictly 3pm - 7pm for ALL visitors, including siblings Birthing women can have 2 support people with her during the labour and birth
