September 2020 To all the very dear staff at the Warkworth Birthing Center, How does a first time Granny (sitting about 11,765kms away in Cape Town), begin to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you for standing in the gap for me while you attended to our precious family, following their recent post-delivery journey? The labour didn’t quite work out as she thought it may, but they were able to come to your facility following the C section, where they were offered personal, loving, competent care, wisdom and guidance. I am so grateful that you became their family and safe space during those early days after baby was born. You can bet that if it wasn’t for Covid, I most definitely would have been in Auckland! I myself am a trained midwife, but what I was told by them, far exceeded anything I had seen or heard of here in South Africa. It made me want to turn back the clock and set up a similar facility here. I know that our family left Warkworth in a positive frame of mind, ready to take control of the new responsibility that they’ve been given. I am super proud of how they are navigating parenthood, and I’m sure it is because of the good start they were given to bond as a new family unit under the watchful eye of your wonderful support team. Thank you once again, for what you do, and how you do it.
