As a midwife, my aim is to support women to have a positive experience, before, during and after the birth of their child. It is important to me to treat women as individuals, to inform and support them in making choices. I have wide experience as a midwife over the last 32 years, both in Britain and in aid agencies around the world. I returned with my husband (my best friend) to NZ in early 2007. My interests are walking, water activities and music. I have clients from Warkworth in the south to Maungaturoto in the north.
Birth Options: Home, Warkworth Birthing Centre, Wellsford Birthing Unit, North Shore Hospital or Whangarei Hospital.

I am a NZ Registered Nurse; then trained in Scotland as a midwife, qualifying in 1992. I have three boys, two of whom were born at home. Since 1999 I have been working with Rodney Coast Midwives, providing all aspects of midwifery care. I believe midwifery is a partnership, where women and their partners are offered sound information so that they can make informed choices about their care. I am actively involved in a church and several community groups. I enjoy my family, organic gardening and handcrafts.

I worked at Whangarei Hospital as a core midwife before changing to a community based LMC (Lead Maternity Carer). My clinic is based in Wellsford where I do antenatal visits.
My role is to provide support & guidance through your pregnancy/birth and postnatal journey. Aiming for a safe, fun, happy and healthy experience. You should make your own informed choices during this time in your life and I am here to serve as a sounding board, help you with decisions and offer advice.
I believe that "LESS IS MORE" during pregnancy/birth and parenting. I consider my role a privilege and a pleasure to be involved with your family/whānau.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Childbirth is a life changing event and I feel honoured to be able to support and guide women and their families through this precious and sacred time. I aim to provide individualised, safe, up-to-date care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. I endeavour to establish a good partnership with you to achieve a positive and unique experience that can be cherished. I am passionate about supporting women to achieve natural, gentle birth in low risk settings. However, having worked as a core midwife at Auckland Hospital I am aware that sometimes complications occur. Continuity and women centred care is important to me. I am enthusiastic about the postpartum phase and enjoy walking alongside women as they transition into motherhood. I live in Warkworth on my family farm, where I grew up. I value the importance of being surrounded by a strong and supportive network of colleagues, friends and family.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am a Registered Nurse and LMC Midwife. I am passionate about women’s health, particularly in pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. It is a joy to share in the journey with women and partners as their families grow. Providing individualised care, unique to each woman is important in ensuring an enjoyable transition to becoming a mother. We have an admired maternity system in New Zealand where midwives like myself are highly skilled practitioners specialising in the normal while also recognising and referring to obstetric care if needed. I live in Mahurangi West with my family on a small block of land with an assortment of animals. I love spending time in the garden.
Areas Covered: Warkworth to Dairy Flat, Orewa and Silverdale.

I was born and raised on the North Shore -but have called Rodney home for many years now. I have been practising Midwifery for over 17 years and have been a mother and now Grandmother for longer. I feel birth is an extremely personal and powerful time, women need to feel confident and supported with the choices they make. I am happy to support primary birthing at home, at Warkworth Birthing Centre and at North Shore Hospital. I am happy to support water birth and also women who need access to obstetric input. Each woman needs to make choices that are right for her, her whanau and her particular circumstances. Pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period is a relatively short time but becoming a parent and a family lasts forever and I believe that if you lay good foundations your journey will be richer. I look forward to sharing this time with you .

I am excited to support and guide you and your whanau during this amazing time. My role as your midwife is to provide advice and support to help navigate you through your pregnancy, while creating an enjoyable and comfortable environment. Having a baby is your journey and I am here to promote informed choices on decisions throughout. I believe in and support the physiological process of pregnancy, labour and birth, however I recognise the need for intervention. I recognise the importance of cultural and religious beliefs and am happy to accommodate these as you choose. I work closely with my partner midwife Terri Jury to provide safe, fun and enjoyable care throughout this time. I look forward to getting to know you!

As a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) since 1998 I have had the privilege of meeting hundreds of lovely families across Auckland. During my midwifery career I have worked as a Clinical Manager in a Tertiary hospital and a Primary Birth Centre so where ever you are planning to have your baby I will work with you to plan a natural active birth. My special interest is working with women who are planning to birth at our Warkworth Birthing Centre, Wellsford birth unit or at home as my preference is to book women who are committed to the normal birth pathway. I am well versed in recognising when a woman's journey moves away from normal and will refer as appropriate to the North Shore or Whangarei Hospital Obstetric Team. The group of midwives I work with provide support for each other and are like-minded in their practice. My caseload is small, antenatal visits are at the Wellsford and Warkworth clinics and postnatal visits will be in your home.
Areas covered: Warkworth area to Wellsford including Mangawhai.
