Caring for you and your baby for

your birth and postnatal stay

Welcome to The Warkworth Birthing Centre

Warkworth Birthing Centre opened in February 2000. It is situated in quiet surroundings on a hill above the town and has a quiet, homely atmosphere. Full birthing facilities are available for normal births and a pool is available for labour and birth. Your midwife provides your labour and birth care with your second midwife coming in to assist at the birth. After the birth of your baby and until you go home there are midwives, registered nurses and maternity assistants to provide care for you and your baby. Your midwife will visit or call you daily and continue to provide your post-natal care at home after discharge from the Birthing Centre.
We also offer full postnatal stays after birthing at hospital or home. To register your interest in staying with us, please speak to your LMC

"Orange Light" Guidelines
as at 14 April  2022

We do a Covid-19 screen of all people coming to stay at the Centre before arrival
and then continue with daily wellness checks.
Masks are to be worn while inside the Centre.

A partner/support person is welcome to stay at the Centre with Mum and Baby.

While partners/support people can leave the Centre if necessary during the stay,
we do encourage them to remain onsite as much as possible.
This is to minimise the risk of potential COVID exposure to Mum and Baby .

Birthing women can have 2 support people during the labour and birth,
subject to Covid-19 screening.
One support person can stay with Mum and Baby after the birth
but the second support person will have to leave.

Tours of the Facility can be arranged for expectant parents.
Please phone in the morning of the day you want to visit to arrange a time
and to have a Covid-19 screen done.

Siblings of the baby are welcome to visit between 3pm and 6pm.
Please make sure all children are well before coming in to meet the new arrival.

Sorry No Other Visitors
